Terry Hutchinson, the highly experienced Skipper and President of Operations for New York Yacht Club American Magic, will inspire an international audience of leading marine professionals as the scene is set for the show's first day on 19 November.

Twice named US Sailing's Rolex Yachtsman of the Year, lifetime competitive sailor Hutchinson participated so far in five America's Cup Campaigns and has won 17 world championships in the Farr 40, IMS, J/24, TP52 classes in addition to the Maxi 72, and Maxi Class. He is also acknowledged by his peers as a proven master in forming and managing the multi-disciplined shore and on-water teams required for any successful sailing campaign.

Niels Klarenbeek, director of METSTRADE, says: "We are delighted to announce Terry Hutchinson as our METSTRADE ICOMIA Breakfast Briefing keynote speaker. This latest edition of the America's Cup is once again pushing boundaries and it will expose high performance foiling to millions globally. The wider recreational marine equipment industry has much to learn from the many areas of technological and human development required for any successful America's Cup campaign. The ability for our global audience of leading marine professionals to engage with one of world sailing's great team leaders will provide a truly inspirational start to METSTRADE 2024.

"Furthermore, we are excited to welcome American Magic as a METSTRADE partner in 2024. In the weeks ahead we'll share regular insights on what it takes to succeed at this level of performance, from design and technology to collaboration and inclusivity. Terry will also meet with members of the METSTRADE Young Professionals Club after his keynote."

Responding, Terry Hutchinson says: "All the things that go into a successful America's Cup team apply to a lot of different areas of our sport. Taking what we learn and transferring it over is a massive win for the marine industry, as is the work we are doing on careers and educational development. American Magic welcomes this opportunity to engage with the marine equipment sector through METSTRADE and I am looking forward to visiting the show in November to meet many of the industry's leading players and young professionals in person."
