Weed at Conningbrook Lakes meant a venue switch to Barton's Point in building wind before a band of rain. Unusually there were six different winners by race 9 before lunch.

International Judge Robert Owens in his second outing in 479 showed a penchant for buoy and boat collisions but was first to change down to a B rig in the ninth race for his second win as a big squall hit.

Adrian Tomlinson (30) won races 1,5 and 6, Peter Glover (026) race 2, Peter Jackson (211) race 4, Mike Brand race 7 and Alan Hounsell race 8, all with A rigs.

All switched to B rigs for the afternoon flight and the story changed, with Adrian Tomlinson's mastery of the B rig showing, plugging in six wins of the nine races. Alan Hounsell continued his consistent results to take second overall from Adrian with a win, three seconds and three thirds to hold off the challenge of Peter Jackson and Robert Owens, each with one more win, by 4 points.

Peter just held on for third overall but Robert closed up to within a point with second in the last race. A few less collisions may have given Robert his first podium!

Mike Brand was also well in the hunt for a podium until the big wave conditions gave his servo an early bath in race 10, ending his day.

Results:

1. Adrian Tomlinson, White/Blue 30
2. Alan Hounsell, Red 380
3. Peter Jackson, Blue 211
4. Robert Owns, White 479
5. Spencer Pope, Grey 32
6. Mike Brand, Green 875
7. Peter Glover, White 026
