Andrew Simpson Yachting (ASY) is delighted to announce our most recent cohort of Professional Skipper Training students have all successfully passed and completed their RYA Yachtmaster Offshore.

After months of focus, determination and dedicated learning, the cohort of three based at Haslar Marina in Gosport have gained their RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, along with many more RYA qualifications along the way, including Powerboat Level 2, Sea Survival, and First Aid.

The recent success means ASY continues to boast that 100% of students completing the Professional Skipper Training programme with us, go on to pass their RYA Yachtmaster.

Qualifying to become a Professional Yacht Skipper can open a whole world of work, experiences and adventures. This ASY Professional Skipper Training Programme is a gateway into a career in the marine industry offering unrivalled access to the Solent and invaluable insight and knowledge from a team of proven instructors.

Now he's successfully completed the Yahctmaster qualification, River Martin is looking to work in yachting deliveries: "My favourite part of the entire programme was sailing up and down the south coast of England, seeing seals and dolphins, going to different marinas and talking about different experiences of sailing with different crews."

Eddie Ford said, "I've loved it, for the 16 weeks I've been here. The next step for me is to become a Cruising Instructor, and I really hope I can stay in touch with all the great instructors at ASY throughout my career, they're so knowledgeable and have really helped me along the way."

And Tigi Combe who has plans to become a Professional Skipper in the Southern Peninsula said, "the thing I like most about ASY is the people, the instructors are so helpful and put in so much time, they've been very accommodating to us all."

We're so excited to see where our latest cohort go in their marine careers and have thoroughly enjoyed guiding them on this significant journey in their development.

The Professional Skipper Training Programme from ASY will train students from scratch or meet experienced individuals wherever they are on their pathway. Accommodation options for the entire course are also provided.
