New for 2024: Official Shoreside Venue

With an early start to the race this year, the race organisers knew the shoreside aspect would be hugely important to making this weekend a highlight of the summer!

The Island Sailing Club (ISC) are extremely pleased to announce that they will be staging an Official Hospitality Venue, located on The Parade in Cowes and next to the ISC.

All competitors, race supporters and spectators are welcome, and it will be open throughout the race weekend (from 14:00 on Friday 14 June to Sunday 16 June afternoon, with free entry).

The new venue will feature:

  • Large CREW BAR Marquee serving all your favourite drinks

Crew Search

The race ethos has been a 'Race for All' for many years now, and it lives up to this with the varied types of sailors that compete annually. It is also often referred to as one of the friendliest yacht races in the UK and this comes in part to boats inviting new crew members onboard from their friends and family groups or offering a space to someone keen to experience this memorable day. The Round the Island Crew Search Page can help owners and sailors connect, visit the event website.

RNLI Volunteer Crews are training for the race

The RNLI has been named the Official Race Charity for 2024 in their 200th Anniversary year. The safety of all the competitors is integral to the smooth running of the race and that's why RNLI Lifeboats from Cowes, Calshot, Bembridge, Yarmouth, Lymington, Mudeford and Portsmouth have been involved in the supporting the event for decades and are strategically positioned around the course. All donations raised will go to these stations and specifically for the training of their volunteer crews. Over £2,900 has been raised so far. To donate please visit:
