The Act 1 of the 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup is ready to celebrate it's opening day at Circolo Vela Torbole, where five international mixed gender teams of Under 25 sailors are gathered, waiting for the moment to compete for the first points of a season which will be articulated into three events.
After Torbole, the young guns of the 69F Class will be again on the water in Malcesine (17-23 June) and Acquafresca (15-21 July).
Among the announced protagonists of this opening event, three teams that already last year defined the hierarchies of the 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup. Above all the French team Orient Express L'Oreal Racing Team, made up of the Under 25 of the French Challenger for the next America's Cup and reigning champions of the event, which they secured last year in Barcellona, on the occasion of the 69F YFGC Grand Final; the team, trained by the coach Michelle Philippe is still led by Enzo Balanger.
On the marks, awaiting for the first warning signal of the season, there are also Clément Cron's Groupe Atlantic, fourth overall at the end of the 2023 season, and Zachary Blomeley's Oceana Vivo, seventh classified at the 69F YFGC Barcelona Grand Final and winner of the event held in Torbole, on the same race course of this awaited season opening.
The entry list is completed by two German teams: the BYC Foiling Team, powered by the Bayerischer Yacht Club, and Youth AC Team Germany, representing the Foiling Academy Germany.
"We are delighted to open the 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup at Circolo Vela Torbole, a club that has always been among the favorite partners of the 69F Class, which again this year is ready to fully support the activity of the Under 25 crews, which have always been the essence of our activity. Considering the level of the entry list, and the awaited weather conditions, we expect to host an unforgettable event" stated Dede De Luca, Race Director of the 69F Class.
The Act 1 of the 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup will liven up the whole week and will end on May 19th with the awards ceremony, scheduled at the clubhouse of the Circolo Vela Torbole, guest of the event and always an exceptional partner for the 69F Class, which on the regatta course battered by Peler's strong gusts of wind held some of its most competitive events so far.
