Announced on Viking's 60th anniversary (April 1), the new Viking 82 represents our unyielding commitment to building a better boat every day. Hull No. 1 is one step closer to completion, returning to the water last week with her custom Palm Beach Towers (PBT) hardtop and tuna tower installed and her freshly applied faux teak shimmering in the sun.

The faux teak adorns the transom, salon bulkhead, mezzanine and raised toe rail. She's powered by twin 2635MHP MTU engines and features the Advanced Viking Propulsion System (AVPS), which utilizes struts and rudders with modified or "twisted" shapes that minimize hydrodynamic resistance, improving performance.

The PBT structure includes a custom hardtop, 11-foot gap tower and upper helm station with sunshade.

Our 150-ton Travelift carried our first Viking 82 to the water, where final installations will take place, including the flybridge helm chairs, outriggers, the Atlantic Marine Electronics package, soft furnishings and interior decor. This yacht is an open bridge convertible, featuring a Pamlico Blue gelcoat. We also offer the 82 as Enclosed Bridge and Sky Bridge models.

She's already undergone initial sea trials and will soon head out again for more performance testing before making her first appearance at our dealer meeting in early June, and then her world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this fall.

Hull No. 1 will also serve as our demo boat on the summer tournament trail. For more information about the new Viking 82, we invite you to contact your authorized Viking dealer.
