Derecktor Dania achieves back-to-back record-breaking quarterly revenue

Derecktor Shipyards proudly announces record-breaking quarterly revenues for its Dania Beach shipyard. Derecktor's unwavering commitment to excellence in marine services and customer satisfaction reflects consecutive quarters of exceptional performance.

This outstanding achievement is attributed to several key factors:

  1. Returning Long-term Customers: Derecktor continues to foster strong relationships with long-term customers who trust and rely on the company's expertise and dedication to quality service.

  2. Facility Improvements: Ongoing investments in facility upgrades and infrastructure enhancements have contributed to increased operational efficiency and service capabilities, allowing Derecktor Shipyards to better meet the evolving needs of its customers.

  3. Employee Performance: The dedication and hard work of Derecktor Shipyards' talented workforce have played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional results. The company values its employees as integral contributors to its success.

  4. New Flat Management Structure: Derecktor Shipyards recently implemented a new flat management structure, streamlining decision-making processes and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. This strategic initiative has empowered employees at all levels to contribute their ideas and expertise toward achieving common goals.

"We are thrilled to announce back-to-back record quarterly revenues for our Florida shipyards," said Joel Shine, Chief Commercial Officer. "This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, as well as the continued support of our valued customers. We remain committed to delivering excellence in marine services and upholding our reputation as a leader in the industry."

Derecktor looks forward to building on this momentum and further strengthening its position as a premier provider of marine services in Florida and beyond.

Derecktor Ft. Pierce welcomes 55m Vitters

Derecktor Ft. Pierce is an ideal option to service and refit the world's largest yachts. While our 1,500 MBH (US short ton) has safely and successfully hauled several motor yachts up to 72 meters in length, we've been waiting patiently to haul our first super sailing yacht.

Our team recently welcomed an exceptional 55-meter ketch built by Vitters in 2005. This award-winning sailing yacht is undoubtedly one of the largest of her kind to visit our yard. Her crew was quite pleased with their accommodations and appreciated everything from our team's attention to their unique needs to the superior quality of service provided to Fort Pierce's laid-back vibes.

M/Y Mary A delighted with Derecktor Dania

Derecktor Dania was pleased to host M/Y Mary A, the multi-award-winning 55m superyacht launched by Feadship in 2005, for a four-week yard period this past winter.

Derecktor's team assessed the bottom paint condition and because she had not been blasted in a decade, determined the best course of action was to blast the bottom hull to bare steel before applying new protective coatings. NDT thickness measurement testing revealed significant material depreciation in a few areas, so additional tank plating, bulkheads and internal framing replacement were recommended. Her yard period also included sea valve maintenance.

All these repairs and a few more were completed on time and budget, allowing Mary A to get under way for an important owner trip, thus exceeding our client's expectations.

FTZ benefits attract new clients to Fort Pierce

Derecktor Ft. Pierce is thrilled to announce our first FTZ (Foreign-Trade Zone) customer! Launched by Feadship in 2016, the elegantly sculpted M/Y JOY is a sprawling 70 meters long and fit well within our FTZ boundary.

Her imaginative use of glass creates true synergy between the indoors and outdoors, one of the many reasons she was a featured attraction during the Palm Beach International Boat Show.

Under the FTZ designation, foreign-built yachts can be brought into Derecktor Ft. Pierce without incurring the typical 1.5 percent import duty. This offers a significant advantage by opening opportunities for prospective U.S. buyers, enabling them to explore and showcase previously restricted vessels.

In addition to the duty exemption for imported parts, major refit projects conducted within the FTZ benefit from deferred duties until the project's completion. Upon completion, vessels can leave the U.S. without the obligation to pay duties or taxes.

The FTZ designation also facilitates operational flexibility for vessels, allowing them to enter and exit the zone as needed. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for accommodating owners' trips and yacht charters.
