Two more race wins - one from rising 49er crew Mattias Coutts and Henry Haslett - stood out on a challenging Day 4 of the 2024 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca.

Coutts and Haslett claimed the bullet in their third race in the gold fleet overnight and are just outside the top 20, 26 points behind the leading Kiwi skiff team of Seb Menzies and George Lee Rush (18th).

Also picking up a win were Micah Wilkinson and Erica Dawson, cementing their spot in the top 10 of the Nacra 17 fleet.

Tom Saunders (ILCA 7), Greta Pilkington (ILCA 6), Jo Aleh and Molly Meech (49erFX), Justina Kitchen (women's kitefoil), Lukas Walton-Keim (men's kitefoil), and Derek Scott and Rebecca Hume (470) all failed to make further inroads in their competitions.

No racing was possible in the men's and women's windfoil events due to light breeze.

Day 3 report:

Josh Armit and Veerle ten Have picked up New Zealand's first race wins and Tom Saunders surged back into contention on Day 3 of the 2024 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca.

Armit claimed a bullet in the penultimate race in his qualifying group of the men's windfoil to remain 4th and is on track for the weekend's medal series.

Ten Have is closing in on a spot in the top 10 of the women's event, courtesy of her first place in the day's last race. She sits 12th, only 3 points from the cut-off mark with up to a dozen qualifying races to go.

Saunders, meanwhile, climbed 15 places to 6th in the ILCA 7 competition courtesy of an 18th and 2nd in his first gold fleet races. Also in the gold fleet is Greta Pilkington, 47th overall in the ILCA 6.

Micah Wilkinson and Erica Dawson are 8th in the Nacra 17 competition, while Justina Kitchen (12th) and Lukas Walton-Keim (20th) are in the top 20 in their respective kitefoiling events.

In the 49erFX, Jo Aleh and Molly Meech have slipped to 26th.

Seb Menzies and George Lee Rush (18th) lead a three-strong Kiwi contingent in the 49er.
