Boat Fitting Guides

We work closely with our Team Allen sailors to ensure every boat they sail has the best possible fittings for each application and so over the years we've built up a good database of fitting lists to improve performance and durability.

Below you will find our most recent addition to our fitting guides - The RS800 Fitting Guide.

MORE FITTING GUIDES

We recently had Mozzy Sails RS800 on display at the RYA Dinghy Show, if you didnt get the chance to attend the show dont worry. Weve put together a comprehensive guide on the fittings required to fully upgrade and pimp your RS800 with everything Allen.

We have supported many sailors through RS800 campaigns, as well as worked directly with RS on many of the custom components of the boat. So, we have a pretty good understanding as to what makes the boat perform with minimal friction and ultimate style!

Here you will find a Team Allen-approved fitting guide.

Boat Breaker

3 x A..87-30  30mm High Load Thimble.

1 x CL253  Trapeze & Vang Clamcleat.

Used to make a lightweight, low-maintenance boat breaker system. You will need to splice these to make a 6:1 purchase system.

Alternative option

1 x A2035-676  30mm Triple Dynamic Block With Inverted Cleat And Becket.

1 x A2034  30mm Triple Dynamic Block.

2 x A20110  2mm x 110mm Tii-Shackle

Alternatively, you can replace the high-load thimbles and Clamcleat arrangement for a simple no-splice method using triple blocks. The Tii-shackles make attachment quick and easy.

Jib Sheet System

In order from bow to stern location.

1 x A2020TiiHL  20mm High Load Single Tii-On Attached to spinnaker throat bar.

1 x A2020Tii  20mm Single Tii-On Attached to the primary line.

1 x A2030Tii  30mm Single Tii-On Attached to the secondary line.

1 x A2030TiiHL  30mm High Load Single Tii-On Attached to traveller car.

1 x AB.553 RS800 Self Tacking Jib System Upgraded car from A4489F to A4489Tii. (please contact us for more details about the track).

1 x A4866XB-ANGLED  Angled Ball Bearing Base With Sheaved Fairlead.

Utilising the above you can make a 4:1 purchase system for the jib sheet. The A2020TiiHL should be attached to the spinnaker throat bar. Using the smaller block with a high load sheave reduces the chance of snagging as well as windage. The smaller diameter block also allows small diameter rope to be used, which reduces friction further.
