Falmouth based coastal and offshore racing group COGS has unveiled its 2024 race calendar, featuring two cross channel races and the very popular race weekend to and around the Scillies.

The 2024 COGS series consists of thirteen races includes five offshore and eight coastal races including to Fowey and Penzance. A new three race mini series will be hosted by Flushing Sailing Club using a course between the Manacles and Dodman Head near St Austell.

Cross channel races include the popular Roscoff Night Race, and for the first time the series will incorporate Helford Sailing Club's long running race to L'Aber Wrac'h which attracts French sailors to join the fleet. On the weekend closest to Mid Summer's Eve, the Eddystone Night Pursuit Race will take yachts from Falmouth to the iconic Eddystone Lighthouse and back in time for breakfast at St Mawes.

COGS is unusual in that it doesn't run its own races. Each race in the calendar is run by a different yacht club which gives each event its own distinctive flavour. Starts are for IRC and YTC handicap with separate prizes for crewed and two-handed racers. The series hosts an annual prize-giving dinner each November.
