Australian luxury motor yacht builder Riviera is making a significant investment in the future of young Australians seeking a career in the marine industry by opening its own state-of-the-art training centre, The Riviera Academy of Excellence. The Academy, based within Riviera's 16.8-hectare Gold Coast facility will allow the motor yacht builder to train, in partnership with Major Training Group, their 150 apprentices onsite across ten individual trades, including composite technology, marine craft construction, diesel fitting and cabinetmaking.

People news: The Marina Industries Association (MIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Habermann to the role of Membership & Programs Manager. Working across all areas of the business, the role supports the MIA's expanding membership and member programs. A passionate sailor, Luke's marina career journey spans over 20 years and includes extensive operational marina management experience both in Australia and overseas.

He brings a strong focus on customer service, safety and compliance and coupled with his management of both wet and dry boat storage operations, it gives him a unique insight into the needs of members and how the MIA can continue to evolve to support them.

From overseas the Singapore Yachting Festival has announced its 2024 details. With over 70 yachts on display and an abundance of F&B, entertainment, and immersive activities on offer, guests will be able to fully immerse in the distinct yachting way of living. Returning after a highly successful inaugural event in 2023, the Singapore Yachting Festival will take place from 25-28th April at ONE degrees15 Marina Sentosa Cove. Also from Asia and a native of Singapore, Camper & Nicholsons announces the appointment of Della Pearce as a yacht sales advisor in Singapore. Della brings a wealth of experience in the yacht sales industry to her appointment as Yacht Sales Advisor with Camper & Nicholsons, specifically in the Asia-Pacific region.

Della embarked on her career in 2005, working for an established Superyacht agency in Singapore before graduating from the Singapore Maritime Academy. From 2011, Della served as a broker and sales director for local, prominent yacht dealerships, including several within the Ferretti Group. Responsible for brokering large yachts as well as working with major superyacht builders on new build projects, Della has experience in all aspects of the sales process.
