Oldest videos of sailing in 16ft Skiff dinghies

by Magnus Smith 1 Dec 2023 23:59 GMT

Our video archive is fully searchable, and linked to all the clubs and classes in our database. It is updated weekly with the latest videos of sailing, but here we delve into the past, and round-up everything that shows sailing in 16 foot skiffs.

This video from the Norman Knott trophy race shows 16 Footers on Sydney Harbour in 1947.

The other video is from the 1950s or 60s and the uploader comments, "I have reproduced from old 8mm film by JOHN PIKES brother early sailing Gorgers river skiffs and some ST George sailing club skiffs. Some people of interest are Ken Minter skiff Joan, there is a shot of MIC Bolton in the starters box."
