2023 was a year of remarkable achievements for the RS21 UK & Ireland Class. The highlight was the National Championships in Lymington, which saw an impressive fleet of 25 boats battling it out on the waters of the western Solent.

This turnout not only exceeded expectations but also surpassed the participation in established classes like the J70 and SB20, marking a significant milestone in just the second year of the UK & Ireland Class.

The 2024 calendar intends to build on this momentum and the class is eager to introduce its 6-part season. "We want to showcase the ultimate one-design racing experience the RS way; be the best sport on the water with events ashore to match," says RS21 International Class Manager Nick Redding.

Changing the game in keelboat racing, the RS21 class is building a reputation for its fair competition and Corinthian ethos, offering competition where skill and strategy reign supreme over bank balances and 'technical dark arts'. This fresh approach is attracting a whole new generation of racers - while also appealing to well-seasoned sailors looking to compete on a truly level playing field.

The 2024 Notice of Series comprises of 6 Events, 50 Races, 1 Champion.

RS21 UK & Ireland Cup 2024 Schedule:

  • Round 1: Hamble, 19 - 21 April
  • Round 2: Hayling Island, 17 - 19 May
  • Round 3: Tarbert, 24 - 27 May
  • Round 4: Lymington, 21 - 23 June
  • Round 5: Volvo Cork Week, 15 - 19 July
  • Round 6: Nationals - Dartmouth, 15 - 18 August
  • World Championships: L'Escala, Girona, 24 - 28 September
More than just a racing season, the RS21 UK & Ireland Class is all about growing a community too. "Every event is really welcoming. Whether you're a boat owner, charterer, or crew - everyone just wants to race and have a good time." RS21 team 'Dark and Stormy' helm, Liam Willis.

With its rapidly growing popularity and expanding global reach, the RS21 class is set to deliver another thrilling year of sailing in 2024. Want to get involved? Head to the RS21 UK & Ireland website to book a demo day. Charter boats are also available for the upcoming season via RS Sailing Club.

"As we look forward to 2024 the RS21 UK & Ireland Class wishes you all a great season and can't wait to welcome you our community sometime soon!" Nigel Rolfe, RS21 UK Class Chairman.
