It was sisters Sonia and Alessia Ciceri and their skipper Pierluigi Puthod that sailed Bruschetta Guastafeste to victory in the seventh stage of the Italian J/24 Cup in the waters of Mandello del Lario.

Taking second place on the podium was Ubaldo Ranzi's Cucuia which was skippered by Marco Giannini. Then, rounding out the podium with the bronze medal was Davide Grignani and Massimo Anghileri's Tatanka which was helmed by Richard Martini.

"Two days of sunshine and a drop of wind meant we only had to do two very tough tests with situations that were never predictable. Well done Bruschetta, Cucuia, and Tatanka, who deservedly got on the podium" commented the Lario J/24 Fleet Captain Mauro Benfatto.

Benfatto continued, "I hope to see everyone back in the water soon with an invitation to the many absent for the next stages and next year. With the next edition, we will certainly change the formula, already taking advantage of the announcement on Sunday morning regardless of the forecast. Thanks to the staff of the Italian Naval League who worked hard not only in the water but thanks to the sponsor Monolith who delighted us with his delicacies. Good wind and thanks to all the racers!"

With seven stages completed, the 2023 Italian J/24 Cup, which is divided into nine events from March to November, will again award the J/24 Cup Trophy to the best Helmsman-Owner (from their best four events) and the Francesco Ciccolo Perpetual Challenge Trophy (reserved for the first place in the National Circuit without considering the discards).

The next event is organized on October 21st & 22nd and hosted by the Circolo Nautico Amici della Vela of Cervia. And finally, the enchanting island of Sardinia will once again host the final stage of the Italian J/24 Cup series on November 11th & 12th off of the pretty seaside resort of Olbia.
