19 XODs were greeted by a Platform start on Saturday Chris Knox and his team managed to get the fleet away in a shifty southerly breeze at the first attempt despite a huge ebb tide.

Mayfly managed to recover from a poor start to lead at Black Rock from Lone Star, X Ray and Condor.

X Ray judged the run to Scott Bailey best and gained a lead that she held to the end. Zest made use of some good navigation and excellent downwind speed to move up into 2nd ahead of Lone Start and Mayfly.

Race 1 Results: (top five)

1st X Ray - James Markby
2nd Zest - Phil and Jo Brewer
3rd Lone Star - Paul Woodman and Oliver James
4th Mayfly - Rory and Amanda Paton
5th Condor - Jolyon and Phil Hutchinson
