Topper SW Traveller Series at Salcombe Yacht Club

It was beautifully sunny, if not overly windy, for the South-West Topper Traveller in Salcombe on Sunday. 25 sailors from across the region took part in the three races hosted by Salcombe Yacht Club: 20x 5.3s and 5x 4.2s.

Due to light winds the AP flag was flown at the start but the sailors enjoyed resting up on the golden beach opposite the yacht club. Eventually, the wind came in and we managed three races.

There were some big windshifts meaning the course had to be relaid but the sailing was still fun and competitive.

The prize-giving was held in wonderful sunshine outside SYC with Finley Kirby coming first in the 4.2 fleet, and the top three in the 5.3 fleet being Amelie Ballantyne (3rd), Imogen Green (2nd) and Harry Mills in first place.

Overall it was a great day in an excellent location and I'm sure we're all looking forward to returning to Salcombe next season!
