Super yacht designer Dan Lenard, founder and senior partner of the Nuvolari-Lenard Design Studio, has concluded the acquisition of the VOR 70 "Telefonica Black", with a scope of creating a second life to a what was once considered one of the fastest racing boats on the planet and was now slowly fading into inevitable end of non competitiveness in the racing world, although being still one of the fastest boats in the world.

In her new incarnation, she will serve as driving vehicle and mobile platform for the promotion of the "Vela Code Project", initiated by Dan Lenard in 2019 with his solo transatlantic sailing without any navigation equipment. "Telefonica Black" from a former racer will be repurposed as an ambassador of Vela Code campaign and therefore raising around the world an awareness of plastic pollution in the oceans and promoting solutions to fight the ever growing problem of the "ocean of plastic".
