Sport Fishing Championship (SFC), the governing body of saltwater tournament fishing, has completed its second season, in which Team Quantified took the top prize following the San Juan International Billfish Tournament.

With four blue marlin releases over the course of three days, Team Quantified won the International Billfish Tournament and with it, their second SFC Championship in a row, earning $1 million. Just like last year, they were also crowned winners of the Gulf Division Championship this season, after winning first place in four different tournaments and accruing well over 10,000 points.

"It feels good," said Team Quantified Captain Justin Drummond. "Me and my crew, we know what we're capable of. I'm just happy and really proud of them and myself that we're finally letting everyone see what we can do. I can't wait till next year as we run for a three-peat."

On the second day of the tournament, Team Quantified ran into a spot of trouble when they had a fish get disqualified due to a time restriction. As anglers only have 2.5 hours to release a fish after the initial hookup, when the fight went overtime, the team lost that catch and had to make it up throughout the remainder of the day.

"As the leader of the team, I say, 'we can overcome this'," said Captain Justin Drummond. "We're not going to let it bother us, let's get back to fishing. It was tough on my crew, but we were able to wash it off immediately and move right past to overcome that deficit."

SFC's third season will get under way in the spring of 2024.
