Port Credit Yacht Club to host Canada's 2023 Celebration of Sailing October 17

by Sail Canada 27 Aug 2023 21:48 BST October 17, 2023

Sail Canada, along with the Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC), is inviting all Canadian sailing fans to Canada's third annual Celebration of Sailing reception which will be held on Tuesday, October 17, at the PCYC.

Following the exciting conclusion of Sarah Douglas' final races at the 2023 Sailing World Championships, where she qualified Canada for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the ILCA 6 class, this year's reception will serve to celebrate that feat and so much more! Canada's Celebration of Sailing marks the pinnacle event of the season for the sport of sailing in Canada, where our nation's high-performance sailors of past, present and future gather with welcomed guests to celebrate outstanding performances and experiences.

Guests will be treated with plentiful appetizers, complimentary beverages, and will enjoy:

  • A meet and greet session with members of the 2023 National Sailing Team and Development Squad, alumni, pros and our NextGen sailors;
  • A send-off ceremony for Canada's Santiago 2023 Pan American Games Sailing Team;
  • A launch of the countdown to the sailing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games;
  • Entertainment from the Stories from the Helm; a captivating panel interview with 4 or 5 Canadian Performance Sailors;
