Bobeck and Netzler win their first FX World Championship

Vilma Bobeck and Rebecca Netzler (SWE) were the class of the FX fleet all week. Upon winning their first World Championship they were swamped at the launch ramp by their training partners and competitors congratulating them on a dominating job.

"We didn't even really know, we weren't looking at the scores," said Bobeck. "We just said our hearts out every race and it worked out for us better than we could have dreamed of."... read on...

Lambriex and van de Werken win third straight World Championship

Bart Lambriex with Floris van de Werken have sailed brilliantly on the final day to secure their thrid straight world title without even needing to race the medal race.

On the final day of gold fleet racing, the Dutch duo scored a 1, 1, 3, dominating an extremely talented fleet of the world's best sailors. The only other teams to ever with three straight 49er worlds are Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (NZL) who won consecutive four consecutive titles from 2013-2016, followed by two more in 2019 and 2020... read on...

Sailing World salutes Lange in farewell

The Olympic sailing world came together to salute Santiago Lange upon completing his final Olympic class racing. The Coast Guard ship did a 360 with horns blaring as the fleet lined up the ramp to welcome the legend back to shore. Lange, the three-time medalist, won gold in Rio in 2016 months after recovering from cancer and having a lung removed in the process. His story runs from 1980 through today, and has touched everyone that ever knew him in sailing... read on
