It's been a packed programme of activities for members at Overy Staithe SC but especially so for the club's increasingly large and active Junior fleet.

Ten OSSC junior members competed in the inter-club Oram Trophy with Brancaster Staithe SC, enjoying racing at Brancaster and then joining in the passage race from Brancaster to Overy Staithe. Supported with safety boats from both clubs and a coach boat provided by Faire Sailing the young helms raced through from Brancaster to Overy, an experience which most sailors at either club relish.

The club then held their Adult and Child Race on Monday 7 August, with a large and diverse entry enjoying some lovely sailing conditions. A range of generations took part, including grandparents and grandchildren. Boats ranged from Toppers to a Fireball. Race Office Sarah Bethell-Jones made sure the race kept junior members engaged with a 1 lap course. The winners, sailing a Twinkle 12, were Paul Goakes and Natasha Dow, with Will and Sam Worsley finishing 2nd in their Family 14. Charles, Amber and Frank Dunstone were 3rd in their Enterprise with Gemma and Isla Dow in 4th in their Mirror.

On Tuesday 8 August the club's younger and older sailors enjoyed some super conditions for the Overy Jerry (over 60), and Laflin (under 14, under 17) trophies. A lovely force 2-3 made for good racing.

Winners were Sam Worsley (Pico) in the Laflin U14, followed by Massi Brady (Topper) and Liberty Goakes (Topper). In the Laflin U17 Max Freemantle won in a Pico. Adam Mills (ILCA 4) won the Jerry, followed home by Catherine Goodley (ILCA 4) and Andy Turner (OK). Jane Heath was 4th in her Lightning.
