The fifth RS Aero World Championship is all set for Calasetta next week and this year's edition includes the 2023 RS Aero Youth Worlds.

Calasetta stands on the island of Sant'Antioco off the south-western tip of Sardinia, a town with fascinating history, traditions, maritime cuisine, dreamy beaches and the sailing is fabulous! Calasetta is perhaps Sardinia's best kept secret, far away from the better know tourist routes!

The fast growing RS Aero fleets in Sardinia and on the Italian mainland, together with the idyllic location for international visitors has enticed 140 entries from 19 nations with large fleets seizing this opportunity from Australia and the USA.

Racing will be hosted by Lega Navale Sulcis, held over five days from Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th July, with up to 14 races in the emerald waters off Sant'Antioco. The prevailing wind is the Mistral from the north west which can come in strong in the afternoons with waves quickly building across the race track. There will be racing in four fleets, RS Aero 5,6,7 & 9, with the Youth World Champs, Womens' and Masters' categories all contested from within those overall results.

RS Sailing have enabled long haul international travellers to compete easily with a fleet of 41 charter RS Aeros all pre-prepped and ready to sail as they hit the ground in Calasetta yesterday.

World Championship sponsors include Rooster, RS Sailing, Selden and we are delighted to also secure a water sponsor in the Sardinian heat with S.Giorgio, all whose generous support helps make a championship like this fantastic.

The town of Calasetta is excited to welcome sailors from around the World. Competitors are already arriving with training groups growing in numbers each day. The regatta village, main square, cafes, bars and restaurants will all be humming with activity and no one will need to look far to share their experiences after an exciting day on the water World Championship racing.
