West Riding Sailing Club were blessed with champagne sailing conditions for the ILCA Super Sunday Event.

A strong Southerly breeze and temperatures touching 30 degrees was still not good enough to get some of the Laser fleet to dust off their beach toys and take to the water, but there was still a good turnout of ILCAs of every flavour (4, 6 & 7) and helms of every vintage. This included the Mother and son combination of Helen and Harry Fox dualling it out on the race course, when not inverted!

Hamish Gledhill disappeared serenely over the horizon to take bullets in both races. In his wake there was the usual fierce competition between Stuart Garside and Derek Allan, with Steve White giving them both something to think about. The sailors then adjourned to the clubhouse decking with tired bodies and slightly burnt, smiling faces to rehydrate.
