At 17 years old, Nadia Khalil completed the 2022 Race to Alaska as part of the youngest team to ever join the race (their combined average age was 16.5 years!).
"I started sailing in elementary school and slowly worked my way to racing dinghies in high school. There I met my future teammates, Enzo and Francesca, and we started joking about doing R2AK. Slowly the joke became less abstract and before we knew it we were buying Nomad, our Santa Cruz 27, and preparing for the race."
R2AK was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but it was by far one of the best experiences of my life so far.
