The UK's leading boat sales company, boatpoint, strengthens its management team with three key promotions, supporting the rapid expansion and bolstering the breadth of expertise across the business.

Phil Jones has been promoted to the position of Group New Boat Sales Manager, following the retirement of Andrew Hyland after a career spanning over 20 years. Phil has more than 20 years' experience in yacht brokerage and prides himself on ensuring a seamless customer experience across the business. He has extensive knowledge and experience of both small and large craft, as well as boat handling.

Chris Ibbotson has been promoted to the position of Group Brokerage Manager. As a passionate sailor with vast experience in the boating industry, he is perfectly placed to help those looking to sell and those wishing to buy. Over the years, Chris has managed his own business in boat sales, working in both new boat sales and brokerage within the marine industry. He is a proud full ABYA member and diligent with all used boat sales paperwork and regulations.

Kevin MacDonald has been promoted to Group Assistant Manager: New Boat Sales. Kevin has been working in the marine industry for more than 20 years, and as well as being a keen boat enthusiast for 40 years, Kevin brings an abundance of experience and enthusiasm to his new role. Having worked on both the brokerage side of the industry and as new boat Sales Manager, he has also been involved in skippering one of the VIP boats in the 2012 Olympic Regatta at Weymouth and Portland.

boatpoint currently operates eight offices around the UK and was founded by national boating business, boatfolk.

Michael Prideaux, Managing Director at boatfolk, comments, "Andrew's experience and breadth of knowledge will be greatly missed by his colleagues at boatpoint and the wider industry; and whilst we are sorry to see him go, we wish him all the best for his retirement.

"The boatpoint group is experiencing industry-leading growth, and as we prepare to expand further in 2023, now is the perfect time to make key changes to ensure the right structure takes us into this exciting new phase."

boatpoint is the main dealer for global market leading boat brands including Jeanneau, Elan, Sasga and Yamarin, and is the exclusive dealer for Quarken powerboats. With more than 200 pre-owned boats to choose form, boatpoint is confident it can help customers find a boat that suits their needs at a price that offers exceptional value.

Michael adds, "At boatfolk, our mission is to create great places for anyone who wants to spend time in, on or by the water. With a leading in-house boat brokerage business and dedicated boatcare services, we can present customers a full-service offering and superior experience. We are passionate about making boating accessible and our aim is to make it easier for boaters to enjoy their time on the water. Our boat subscription service, Beyonder, is also there to provide an essential bridge for those that want to get on the water but haven't yet managed to navigate the barriers to entry to boat ownership."
