The regatta celebrates its 41st edition from 30th July to 5th August on the Bay of Palma

MAPFRE continues their collaboration agreement with the Real Club Náutico de Palma for three further years as principal sponsor of the Mediterranean's major sailing regatta, the Copa del Rey. The insurance company will once again share its name with the regatta, as the Copa del Rey MAPFRE, for the editions to be held in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The agreement was officially finalised with the signatures of Emerico Fuster, President of the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) and the regatta's organizing committee, and José Manuel Inchausti, CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, at the MAPFRE headquarters. The official act was also attended by Raúl Costilla, CEO of MAPFRE Vida, and Manuel Fraga, director of the RCNP.

Emerico Fuster expressed his appreciation of the agreement,

"On behalf of both the club and Spanish sailing we are truly proud that MAPFRE has renewed their trust in the Copa del Rey, enabling us to continue to promote the sport of sailing and all its values, including commitment, teamwork, and sustainability. We are extremely grateful for their collaboration."

José Manuel Inchausti also highlighted the fact that the agreement reinforces MAPFRE's support of sailing and the historical event,

"Our company has been connected to the regatta for 16 years. We share the same values of hard work, solidarity and the ongoing aim, drive and achievement which the sailors embody year after year."

The union of MAPFRE with one of the Mediterranean's major regattas, the Copa del Rey, dates back to 2007. Every summer, Palma and the entire island of Mallorca becomes the world's centre of sailing from the last week in July to the first in August. This year the regatta celebrates its 41s edition from Sunday 30th July until Saturday 5th August, and does it once again with the unconditional support of MAPFRE.

MAPFRE is referential as an insurance Company in the Spanish market, leader in automobile, home and business insurance among other areas, with over 7 million clients, close to 11,000 employees in Spain and approximately 3,000 offices distributed across the country.

The Copa del Rey MAPFRE will celebrate its 41st edition in 2023. Over one hundred teams from twenty different nationalities, meet each year in Palma to dispute one of the world's major yacht racing competitions. The seven days of the regatta include an extensive sporting and social programme which officially concludes on Saturday 5th August at 21:00h with the regatta prize-giving held in Ses Voltes and attended by HM King Felipe.
