The inaugural RSYC Contessa Regatta, hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th June, is now just three weeks away with an entry deadline of 5pm on Friday 2nd June.

To date, thirty-three Contessas from all over the Solent area have signed up, with entry numbers boosted by the announcement that the regatta would incorporate the Contessa 26 and 28 Nationals, in addition to the Contessa 32 Point Series.

A full programme of racing is planned on Saturday and Sunday in the Western Solent, with three races on Saturday and two races on Sunday.

The Regatta organisers are delighted to announce that Louis Jadot has now joined Jeremy Rogers Ltd as the partnering sponsors of this year's RSYC Contessa Regatta, with the very generous provision of Louis Jadot's Maçon-Lugny for the drinks reception on Friday evening. Plus, the winning boat in each class will receive a magnum of Louis Jadot Moulin-à-Vent Château des Jacques and a jeroboam will be presented to the overall winner.

In addition, the Contessa Regatta's supporting sponsor, Hall Hunter Partnership, is supplying its delicious locally grown berries for dessert at the Friday and Saturday suppers.

A full social programme is also planned ashore, with a welcome drinks reception and supper on Friday evening, a curry supper on Saturday after which competitors and their guests will enjoy dancing to the lively and popular local band 'The Accelerators'.

The weekend will culminate on Sunday afternoon with a Hog Roast and prize-giving by Fiona Rogers, widow of the late Jeremy Rogers.
