Wayfarer National Championship 2023 at Dabchicks Sailing Club - Preview

This year the Wayfarer Nationals - sponsored by Craftinsure, Hartley Boats and McNamara Sails - will be held at Dabchicks Sailing Club, West Mersea. This is a highly anticipated event (delayed from being hosted at the venue in 2020 owing to the pandemic) promises to bring together some of the best sailors in the Wayfarer class from across the UK. The event will be held from 30th June to the 2nd July 2023 and will be an exciting showcase of skill and teamwork in estuary conditions.

The Wayfarer is a versatile and popular sailing dinghy that is known for its stability and reliability, making it a favourite among sailors of all ability levels. At the Nationals, sailors will have the opportunity to test their skills and compete against other talented class sailors from across the country, with strong fleets with associated Open events at the likes of Parkstone, Medway, Waldringfield, Aldeburgh, Rollesby Broad, Datchet and Bough Beech.

Dabchicks Sailing Club, located on the picturesque Mersea Island, provides the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event. With its beautiful natural surroundings and excellent facilities, including a modern clubhouse and well-maintained dinghy park, Dabchicks is an ideal venue for the Wayfarer Nationals.

Whether you're a seasoned Wayfarer sailor or new to the class, the Wayfarer Nationals at Dabchicks Sailing Club is an event not to be missed. With its beautiful location, excellent facilities, and high-quality racing, it's sure to be a memorable long weekend for all involved.

An early bird entry fee of £100 is available until midnight on 8th June 2023. There will be a Standard entry fee of £125 from 9th June 2023 until the closing date at midnight, 28th June 2023.
