Pantaenius UK has today announced they will be continuing and increasing their support for the Wetwheels Foundation. As leading advocates for the charity, this purposeful alliance is underpinned by a shared vision to augment the provision of barrier-free boating and to promote a more inclusive marine industry.

Engaging in this long-term partnership has been firmly cemented by support last year from Pantaenius UK during the Solent Platinum Jubilee celebrations together with a number of sponsored challenges undertaken by the Pantaenius UK crew, with Wetwheels as the nominated beneficiary. Championing a cause that resonates strongly within the boating community, this increased level of commitment delivers an important milestone for the charity and serves to further endorse and fortify their incredible work.

"I've been lucky enough to meet and hear first-hand from many people who have been boating with Wetwheels, and how it has brought them and their families so much joy. We couldn't think of another charity more deserving of our support than Wetwheels and we are delighted to play a small part in their work" commented Mike Wimbridge, Managing Director, Pantaenius UK.

The Wetwheels Foundation was conceived and founded by disabled yachtsman Geoff Holt MBE DL and has become a highly admired UK marine enterprise. Offering unique access to boating opportunities for those with all disabilities, their purpose-built power boats are adapted to carry passengers in wheelchairs and cater for those with complex needs in a safe and stimulating environment. Each location is run by dedicated and experienced teams who ensure participants are not simply passengers, with the opportunity to steer the boat whilst learning seamanship alongside peers, friends and family members. The wellbeing benefits of boating have been well documented and the ability to enjoy time on the water barrier-free is something that both Wetwheels and Pantaenius UK firmly believe should be available to absolutely everyone.

"We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Pantaenius UK with whom we have many shared values and aspirations. At a time when we are seeking to grow, this support is incredibly important. The real magic happens out there, over the horizon - the freedom of being on the water is powerful and affects everyone in their own unique way. Thank you to Mike, Simon and the team and we look forward to a flourishing relationship." Geoff Holt MBE DL.

With Wetwheels going from strength to strength, expanding the fleet into the City of Edinburgh this springtime, Torbay in 2024 and new plans for Wales and East Anglia, this collaborative partnership will also see both organisations jointly promoting the charity at a variety of events. The number of individual experiences on offer is also set to increase, including a week of on-water opportunities in July and working together at the Southampton International Boat Show.
