Over the March 23rd to 25th weekend, the St. Augustine Yacht Club hosted their newly famous St. Augustine Race Week for the dozens of sailors that gathered together at their famous inlet a few miles south of the city of Jacksonville, FL.

Billed as the event with "warm ocean, friendly people, and hot competition", the team of Dave Montgomery, Dan Floryan, Pat Lambert, and FCSA helped to manage and produce yet another great race week. It sure helped to be blessed with amazing weather for sailing all three days, permitting the SAYC RC/PRO team to run a total of six races!

Race Week was founded by John Meehan and its mission was to help fund the Youth Sailing Scholarship program. With John's passing in 2015, the scholarship was renamed the "John Daniel Meehan Youth Scholarship Fund" in honor of John, a passionate and enthusiastic sailor loved by many in the community.

Amongst the Performance PHRF Division, there were several J/Teams that ended up occupying much of the top five! Winning with a record of three bullets and three deuces was David Nesbitt's pretty blue J/92 HILLBILLY. Rounding out the podium to earn the bronze medal was David Noble's classic J/30 SPRAYLASH with mostly thirds in his scoreline. Then, rounding out the top five was "Bubba" Futch's party-loving J/29 crew on CHEETAH taking fourth, with Richard Amerling's equally entertaining team on his J/125 EAGLES WINGS in fifth place.

Here are two nice videos of the J/125 EAGLES WINGS rounding the weather mark and setting the spinnaker:
