All welcome at Ullswater Yacht Club's first Open of the season

Ullswater Yacht Club launches into the 2023 racing season with its first Open, the Daffodil Regatta, on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23. There'll be daffodils galore at the prize-giving as UYC joins in Ullswater's spring celebrations in praise of Wordsworth's favourite flower.

The Daffodil Regatta offers great racing in beautiful surroundings and racers of all classes are welcome. It is also a travellers event for the Musto Skiffs, VX Ones and there's an especially warm welcome for newcomers, the OK Class for their Northern Championships.

Racing will be split into two fleets, a windward/leeward for the asymmetrics and a mixture of courses for the conventional boats. All fleets will sail six races over the weekend - three on Saturday, start not before 1pm, and three on Sunday, start not before 11am, with a briefing at 11am on the Saturday.

There's camping and campervan parking on site from Friday and an evening meal on the Saturday at 7pm. Entry to the event and booking for camping is through the UYC website. Entries close at midnight on April 19.

Entries can be made at registration on the Saturday, subject to a £10 surcharge.

Booking for the two-course meal on the Saturday is also online, closing date April 19.
