Southeast Asia Yachting Conference 2023

Wade Pearce, Founder of SG Marine Guide, is proud to announce that the Southeast Asia Yachting Conference will take place on 26 April 2023 at ONE°15 Marina, Sentosa Cove, and will lead into the Singapore Yachting Festival 27-30 April. The conference will bring together leading industry professionals from Singapore and across the region to share insights on Southeast Asia, its cruising regulations and infrastructure, innovations in technology, discuss best practices, and network with like-minded individuals. The conference is a combined effort in association with the Asia Boating Dialogue, supported by ICOMIA and the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association.

Asian Spotlight, Keynote Speaker, and SEA Update

Keynote speaker Darren Vaux is the newly elected President of ICOMIA. Vaux, who is based in Australia, is a long-term industry professional who is Managing Director of the Empire Marinas Group, Director & Past-President-Boating Industry Association, and Chair of the Maritime Advisory Council, Australia. Vaux is keen to engage with the emerging yachting communities in Southeast Asia, and is aware that the growth of these markets will play an important role in the sustainability and prosperity of the industry in the future. “ICOMIA is committed to supporting these important markets and wonderful boating destinations. As a truly global industry we are uniquely placed to support, share and showcase the universal boating lifestyle to our local communities. In this context, it is more important than ever to engage with our Asian colleagues, whom have experienced major growth over the last few years and are poised for a prosperous future. I am pleased to be able to support the Southeast Asia Yachting Conference and the Singapore Yachting Festival 2023 as they help to spotlight this region,” said Vaux.

Conference MC, Wicky Sundram is a well-known industry professional. A Malaysian currently based at Phuket Boat Lagoon, one of Thailand's premier marinas. Prior to Phuket, Sundram spent 18 years developing the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club and its signature yachting regatta, the Royal Langkawi International Regatta. A member of the Aseanarean Bluewater Alliance, an alliance of 13 marinas in South East Asia, Sundram is also a Certified Marina Professional by the Global Marina Institute of England and Marina Industries Association of Australia.

SEA Yachting Conference Programme

The Conference will be held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, and the morning sessions will focus on four Southeast Asian destinations: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore

Key industry speakers will provide the latest information on:

  • Immigration policies and procedures
  • Cruising regulations
  • Marinas and marine infrastructure
  • Shipyards and refit facilities
  • Yachting events, festivals, conferences and regattas
  • Afternoon Panel Discussions
  • A networking lunch will be followed by Panel Discussions which will cover four key areas:
  • Superyachts: An Asian perspective focused on owners, captains, and existing infrastructure.
  • Charter: Growth of the industry in Asia, and regulations in Asia.
  • Yacht Management and Crew Issues: Safety standards and regulations for crew and yachts.
  • Technology and Sustainability: Telecommunications, new fuel options and environmental standards for a greener future for yachting.
