by Prensa Sailing Comunicación 21 Feb 2023 07:55 GMT 16-19 February 2023

The international event closes in the RCN of Torrevieja, second meeting of the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week and it does it fulfilling the program on the 10 planned races.

The Swedish Jonathan Llado Krensler and the torrevejense Ascensión Roca, have been proclaimed new European champions of the Europe 2023 class, after closing today the fourth and last day in the RCN of Torrevieja, regatta included in the program of the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week.

A fourth delivery that has been marked by the strategy and know how to be in control, especially between the two who were playing for the title in the men's category. The Swedish Llado put the direct in the first test, did not want surprises and with a new partial victory took a giant step to the title. Dani Cabré, for his part, closed that race with a fifth place.

In the last race and with the homework done by Llado, he just did his race without any pressure. He said goodbye to Torrevieja with a seventh place. Cabré was disqualified and that DSQ completely distanced him from the first place. The triumph this last race was for the local Alejandro Pareja (RCN Torrevieja).

With Llado and Cabré in first and second place on the podium, respectively, the war was focused on the bronze being the local Alberto Antón Escudero (RCN Torrevieja) who took the metal, with 48 points.

In the women's category, Ascensión Roca (RCN Torrevieja) had everything in her favor to win the title. Partials of 10 and 8 were enough to proclaim herself European champion at home. Silver for Emma Cabré (CN Masnou) and bronze for the Danish Camilla Svensson.

The trophy ceremony was attended by Diana Box, Councillor for Sports of the City of Torrevieja; Oriol Subirá, National Secretary of the Europe Class Spain; Patricia Quesada, co-director of Euromarina; Rafael González, European Technical Committee Europe Class; Carlos Torrado, president of the FVCV and Germán Soler, president of the RCN of Torrevieja.
