In a global first, Mark Beretta, one of Australia’s best-loved sports presenters and Channel Seven Sunrise reporter, hit Sydney Harbour to water ski behind the Australia SailGP F50 catamaran during practice.

A professional water-skier, Beretta managed to maintain his customary composure for the adrenaline-pumping stunt while skiing over the waves behind one of the world’s fastest sailing boats that can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h.

SailGP returns to iconic Sydney Harbour this weekend (18-19 February) for the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix | Sydney, the ninth event in the 11 event global championship.

The Australia SailGP Team are currently sitting in first place in the season standings and are hoping to repeat its two previous championship wins, as well as their memorable race victory last season in Sydney.
