The Staunton Blaster is almost here... featuring a special prize for one visiting boat

The third and penultimate leg in the East Midlands Mini-Series is set to take place at Staunton Harold Sailing Club on 18/19 February. Already sailed, the "Burton Blizzard" was won by Staunton sailors Tom Gillard/ Rachael Gray (Merlin Rocket) and the Notts 'County Cooler' was won by, Carsington Sailor, Will Hitchman (D Zero). And what a series so far! Over 15 different classes of boat, and more than 40 boats taking part across the first two events, the series trophy up for grabs and a dedicated travelling prize for the Blaster (see more below).

On the day

Subject to conditions there will be five races over two days. Racing will be handicap racing (PY 912/900 and above) average lap and a pursuit race. Dinghies and windsurfers (raceboarders) are welcome. Galley will be available on both days with a range of snacks, refreshments and some hot food.

The briefing will be held at 10:45 a.m. on the Saturday, with racing to follow. Find the Notice of Rae and Sailing Instructions here.

Please sign on here and please note advice on cleaning your boat before the event if you sailed at Burton Sailing Club due to the invasive shrimp species identified there.
