East Anglian SUP initiative visits Royal Harwich YC on a windless day © RHYC

Last weekend was a busy time at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club. On Saturday we hosted a racing event for East Anglian SUP initiative, where 43 paddle boarders raced towards the Orwell bridge and back. Not a day for sailing with no wind, but perfect for paddle boarders.

Fortunately the wind filled in for the second Sunday of Shiver series. The weather was a complete contrast to the first one, with light winds and blue skies. 14 Lasers and 10 handicap boats competed in two races with trapezoid courses, giving a run for the 200s and two reaches which suited the Lasers.

ILCA/Laser series results after 4 races:

1st Stephen Videlo
2nd Paul Davies
3rd Toby Tracey

Handicap series results after 4 races:

1st Andrew Nunn & Becky Rains, RS200
2nd Chris & Nicole Mayhew, RS200
3rd Bob Portway, Phantom
