There is considerable interest in the upcoming Simply Blue Sovereign's Cup, running from 21st to 24th June, in Kinsale.

One notable early entry is Ron O'Hanley of New York Yacht Club who is bringing his Cookson 50. Privateer was designed by Farr Yacht Design and built by Cookson Boats in New Zealand. She is a 50' canting keel yacht and promises to bring some stiff competition to the Coastal Fleet. Privateer has previously competed in the Sydney-Hobart, the Rolex Fastnet and the RORC Caribbean 600 races amongst many others.

This year the Simply Blue Sovereign's Cup incorporates the 1720 European Championships. A strong fleet is expected, and entries are already coming in.

Along with the substantial reduction in the Early Bird entry fee, there is an added incentive to get your entry in quickly - a draw for a case of wine will take place for all who have entered by 31st January.
