Last month Representative Andrew Clyde (GA-09), who represents one of many key boating markets in Georgia, visited the Chaparral and Robalo Boats facilities in Nashville, Georgia.
Led by Buck Pegg, Founder of Chaparral, alongside Ann Baldree, Senior Vice President, and Mike Fafard, Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Engineering, Representative Clyde toured the combined 1.2 million square foot manufacturing facility and received a briefing on Chaparral's economic impact and contributions to the state including the employment of over 950 Georgians.
During the visit, attendees had the opportunity to meet with company leadership, tour the plants, and learn more about company operations while discussing a number of legislative priorities for the recreational boating industry. Discussion included the importance of maintaining fair boating access, the reauthorization of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently proposed North Atlantic right whale vessel speed restriction rule.
