Suntex Marina Investors, LLC (Suntex), the premier owner and operator of best-in-class marina properties, have announced the acquisition of Seaside Boatyard & Marina, formerly known as The Boat Yard - Channel Islands. The property is located in Oxnard, California and is the company's first acquisition in coastal California.

Seaside Boatyard & Marina is a 17.1-acre, full-service boat yard and marina consisting of a 122-slip marina accommodating boats from 30- to 60-feet, with 22 end ties able to accommodate boats up to 85-feet, as well as a 490-space dry storage facility. Seaside is Ventura County's largest recreational vessel boat yard and is equipped to provide boaters with haul-out services for vessels up to 75-tons and is staffed to offer painting and finishing, fiberglass and woodwork, engine, mechanical and rigging repairs. Plans for the property include remodeling the main building, refurbishing and upgrading the facilities and infrastructure, and adding additional lighting to the dry storage area.

"We are excited to gain a quality coastal product in the highly desirable Oxnard community," said Mike Warntjes, Senior Vice President, Operations, Suntex Marinas. "Seaside Boatyard and Marina is the foundation to our future strategy around coastal growth in the Southern California market. With our planned improvements, we intend to bring an elevated customer experience for our members."

Ventura Harbor is the fastest growing coastal harbor in California. Channel Islands Harbor is in Oxnard, California which is conveniently located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, approximately 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles International Airport. Home to more than 1,500 recreational boats and commercial fishing vessels, the Channel Islands Harbor is the gateway to the Channel Islands National Park and provides a full range of services for boaters and visitors. Channel Islands Harbor was opened in 1965 and offers restaurants, various retail opportunities, single-family homes, condominiums, apartments and a hotel. The harbor is owned by Ventura County.

"The Boatyard - Channel Islands and its developer Greg Schem have done a tremendous job paving the way for the future in the Channel Island Harbor and we are proud to have the opportunity to expand on what Mr. Schem has created," said Bryan Redmond, CEO, Suntex Marinas. "Seaside Boatyard & Marina provides our first opportunity to expand into this highly desirable Southern California Market. Seaside will afford us the opportunity to develop and expand our regional presence and enable us to pursue more acquisitions in the near future."
