Open Frostbite at South Windermere Sailing Club - Starts soon

South Windermere Sailing Club's long established open frostbite series will run over 7 Sundays from 23rd October thru 4th December. All are welcome!

Two races per day (race 1 and race 2), back to back, with the start of the first race at 12:00.

There will be prizes for the race 1 series, race 2 series, and winner overall of the combined series.

It's a great opportunity to visit SWSC in its new beautiful location at the YMCA Lakeside North Camp.

The club will of course provide its usual friendly welcome, and bacon butties will be available before racing.

Entries can be for the whole series (£40 double hander, £30 single hander - including boat parking), or on the day (£15 / £10).

Great progress at the new clubhouse, but still not ready to accept large numbers of visitors Things are progressing well at South Windermere Sailing Club's new venue at the YMCA north camp, with much of the new galley installed, new committee boat on the water, and matting down to help launching and recovery of keelboats. Racing from South Windermere Sailing Club's new location The K1 open series moved up to Windermere on Saturday 21st May 2022. After Storm Arwen causes damage to the South Windermere SC clubhouse Storm Arwin had a huge effect on the Lake District, with thousands of trees blown down, and hundreds of boats damaged on Lake Windermere. Light winds for the 55th year of the running of the event 2021 is the 60th anniversary year of South Windermere Sailing Club, and June 13th was the 55th year of the running of the Waterhead race - a long distance race from Fell Foot at the south end of Lake Windermere all the way to the Waterhead buoy and back. South Windermere Sailing Club confirm that the event will go ahead South Windermere Sailing Club can confirm the running of the 2021 Waterhead Race, on Sunday 13th June, at 11am.
