On day 1 of the finals racing, all-time conditions shone a bright light on the SailGP Inspire Racing Circuit in St Tropez. 25+ knots of pure Mistral conditions provided an amazing platform for the WASZP to light up the race-trrack.

Experienced WASZP sailor Hippolyte Gruet revelled in the conditions to take the win from talented young french sailor Elliot Coville.

A standout performance from Emilie Bouchet allowed her to finish fourth overall and the first female to book her ticket to the Grand Final.

We now turn our attention to Cadiz, Spain for the final event of the European leg of Season 3.

Nicole van der Velden wins Spain Eurocup

What an awesome weekend we just had for the Spanish Nationals and EuroCup leg 4 in Santander! 8 races with 16 sailors from three different countries. Competition at the top was tough and tight but, in the end, it was the local sailor Nicole Van der Velden who sailed close to perfection to take the victory.

Nicole, who recently competed with the Spanish F50 team at SailGP Copenhagen, was joined on the podium by Catalan sailor and two-time European Champion, Joan Costa and Alejandro Ramos from Santander in third and first master. First under 21 was Quicorras Urios from Valencia, earning himself a place on the upcoming SailGP Inspire program in Cadiz alongside Jaime Framis Harguindey and Isi Collado.
