Looking good: 33-metre Blue Jeans launched

by Van der Valk Shipyard 10 Sep 2022 17:05 BST

This is a red-carpet week in several ways for Van der Valk. Our sales team are at the Cannes Yachting Festival showing clients around Lady Lene and discussing countless ideas with friends old and new for future builds.

Meanwhile, work at our yard back in the Netherlands continues apace on a wide range of projects... And to cap it all we've just launched the beautiful Blue Jeans for her delighted owners.

The Van der Valk custom promise is being taken to new heights on the beautiful Blue Jeans. Bespoke innovations on this 33-metre raised pilothouse include high ceilings, dive-board balconies in the main deck lounge, glass bulwarks for enhanced views, a recessed chill-out zone in the forepeak and much more besides.

And relax...

Casual entertainment for friends and family is the theme of a yacht that is being built to a high degree of sophistication throughout. She will also feature a large garage for a Carbon Craft CC130 turbojet tender, a hydraulic swim platform and a top speed of some 28 knots powered by twin 2600 hp engines. Designer Guido de Groot's sleek profile matches the high-end quality of this impressive project.

Launch Van der Valk Raised Pilothouse - Blue Jeans from Van der Valk Shipyard on Vimeo.

As you can see in the video, this bespoke 33-metre raised pilothouse looks fantastic with her super-stylish exterior design and attractive blue hull livery, custom-mixed by the Van der Valk paint masters together with Alexseal. Designer Guido de Groot has ingeniously played with colours, surfaces and lights to remove any hint of white and generate a really distinctive look. Other outdoor highlights include dive-board balconies on the main deck, glass bulwarks, a recessed chill-out zone in the forepeak and the mothership-matching aluminium tender (also fully custom-made).

The interior of Blue Jeans is also a perfect fit with its high ceilings reaching almost 2.5 metres in the lounge. With that parameter established in the design brief we had carte blanche to create a one-off interior that's home to a sophisticated palette of marbles, metals, woods and furniture. Inside and out, every millimetre of space has been optimised on a timeless yacht that will be the height of fashion for decades to come.

The most intricate of interiors

With ceiling heights of up to 2.50 metres, the sense of space offers a serene backdrop to a fusion of Northern European and Asian styles. The owners pushed the window of the possible on a yacht this size with amazing lighting to match. Highlights include liquid metal and copper walls and the exclusive use of small wooden teak slats for the walls and ceilings. The rare Lapis Blue marble in the master stateroom is magnificent as is the Nero Marquina and Fior di Bosco in the dining area and the wonderful White Carrara in the saloon entrance.

Luxury for all

Built for entertainment in every sense of the word, Blue Jeans has a surprisingly sleek exterior profile for a yacht with extra high ceilings in the main deck and a raised bow. The latter reflects the concealment of the anchors within the forepeak to generate space on the foredeck for an additional chill-out zone. A pop-up table will be receded flush into the deck here and, when raised, people can sit with their legs inside the vacated space.

We hope you enjoy the video. If you're in Cannes this week and would like more details about this superb new project - or how you might also leverage on our unique ability to build custom motoryachts in this size - come and see us at stand SYE 012.
