Noble Marine 2022 UK Musto Skiff National Championship at Eastbourne Sovereign Sailing Club Overall

After four days of racing, the 2022 Noble Marine UK Musto Skiff National Championship in Eastbourne concluded with Sam Pascoe retaining the UK National Champion Title and trophy for another year. Joining Sam on the podium was Bruce Keen in 2nd place, and Jono Shelley in 3rd place.

Sam had an excellent Championships, maintaining his lead from day 1 and finishing with a 16-point lead over the former multiple UK National Champion title holder, Bruce Keen.

The most prestigious regatta in the UK Musto Skiff class event calendar took place over 1st – 4th September this year and was hosted by Eastbourne Sovereign Sailing Club, with Noble Marine Insurance as the Title Event Sponsor and Musto sponsoring all prizes as the Class Title Sponsor.

Other sailors finishing in the top 10 included Dan Vincent in 4th, Sam Barker in 5th, Ian Turnbull in 6th, Rob Richardson in 7th, Eddie Bridle in 8th, Danny Boatman in 9th, and Dan Trotter in 10th place.

The first youth to finish was Rob Richardson, who also had a top 10 result, followed by Eddie Bridle in 2nd, and Josh Belben in 3rd.

The Master category saw Dan Vincent taking 1st place (alongside his top 10 place), with Richard Pelley taking 2nd, and Brian Greensmith taking 3rd. The Grand Master category was also hotly contended with Ian Trotter taking 1st place, followed by Richard Smith in 2nd, and Karsten Groth taking 3rd. Karsten was delighted to win a prize, having travelled all the way from The Netherlands with three other Dutch Musto Skiff sailors to participate in the competition.

In the Legend category, Ian Escritt took 1st place, with Stephen Wright taking 2nd. Finally, in the Silver fleet this year, Josh Belben took 1st place, with George Cousins taking 2nd, and Stuart Keegan finishing in 3rd.
