International Canoe 'Not the Worlds' at the West Kirby Sailing Club Sailing Festival - Day 3

by Gareth Caldwell 29 Aug 2022 17:45 BST 27-29 August 2022

After the distribution of race course maps, and a thorough briefing - all marks to port, Wales to starboard, follow the rib, England to port, if you get to Chester you've overstood the mark - the fleet launched into a steady F2, which built to an unsteady top of a F3 throughout the race.

All areas of the Dee were visited, some as part of the course, some a little inadvertently!

Taking benefit of yesterday's coach boat input made a difference to Rob Bell and Andrew Potter, as they led home the ICs and ICODs respectively.

Well done to the race management team for keeping an eye on who was where. Even with a slightly shortened course, the distance sailed was just shy of 30km.
