Expert advice from the RYA at the Southampton International Boat Show

If you're visiting the Southampton International Boat Show (16-25 September), head to the RYA stand (J120) for all the knowledge and information you need to make the most of your time on the water.

From Yachtmaster to the new RYA wing training scheme, if you're looking to try something new or develop your skills, we can help to find the right course for you.

The show's also the perfect place to pick up your RYA publications with a 20% discount for all members. Browse eBooks and sample a selection of audiobooks including RYA International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

Expert advice
Throughout the show, RYA experts will be on hand to share their advice. Here's who to look out for...

Cruising
For cruising both home and abroad, RYA Cruising Advisor, Carol Paddison, will be on the stand from 16-21 September (11am-3pm) to answer your questions on everything from evidencing your competence to equipping your boat for sea.

You can also find out how RYA SafeTrx can keep you safe on your travels. Head to the Foredeck Stage to catch the talk from RYA Cruising Manager, Stuart Carruthers (Monday 19 September, 3pm).

Advice
Members of the RYA Legal Team will be available on the stand on Tuesday 20 September, to advise members on topics including buying and selling boats, insurance, registration, and VAT issues.

Racing Services
If you're involved in racing, find information on event and race management including handicapping, measurement certificates and coding with advice from the Racing Services team. RYA Technical Manager, Adam Parry is on the stand on Wednesday 21 September.

The Green Blue
Find out how we can all do our bit to protect marine and inland waters by learning some sustainable boating tips from The Green Blue, the joint environmental programme for the RYA and British Marine (stand J202).

The Green Blue are part of the show's Environmental Innovation Showcase in Ocean Hall, highlighting to consumers products and services that they can utilise to support them in becoming more environmentally conscious boaters.
