Superyacht Australia farewell's founding chairperson and welcomes new chair and committee

Long-standing chairperson of Superyacht Australia, Barry Jenkins has retired after 15 dedicated years in the role.

Jenkins has been involved in the marine industry for many years. His vast experience has seen him as General Manager of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Director of the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX), Vice President and President of the Boating Industry Association of Queensland/Marine Queensland; Director, Vice President and President of the Australian Marine Industries Federation; and the Founding Chairman of Super Yacht Base Australia now Superyacht Australia.

David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia, said "Barry has overseen huge growth in the Australian industry and as the founding chairman of Superyacht Australia led the industry with great distinction and enthusiasm. You don't earn the nickname of 'Mr Boat Show' without having a major impact on the industry."

Superyacht Australia is pleased to announce the new National Committee including a new Chairperson. Chris Blackwell, Sales and Marketing Manager, Echo Marine Group has been appointed to head the new team and brings years of experience to the role. Chris has over 24 years of shipbuilding design, project management, sales and marketing experience spanning all three of Western Australia's internationally renowned shipyards - Austal, SilverYachts and Echo Yachts.

The Superyacht Australia committee sees Cameron Bray, The Superyacht People; Steve Fisher, Rivergate Marina and Shipyard; Joachim Howard, Ocean Alliance and Kathleen Ferguson, Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef and Peter Redford, Fraser Yachts continue as committee members.

New committee members are Carrie Carter, Carter Marine Agencies; Duncan Curnow, Quality Marine Clothing; Tommy Ericson, Aus Ships Group; Natalie Godward, Port Authority of NSW and Jayson McDonald, Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay.
