The Royal Cape Yacht Club has a young ladies team who entered the Lady Liberty Regatta at the Manhattan Yacht Club, New York. The team will be announced on Saturday 13 August at RCYC at our Ladies Race.

On the day we have Vasti Manser as guest speaker (wife of Riaan Manser - an amazing adventure/extreme sport couple), then this is followed by a Ladies Race - the boat must have 50% Ladies crew and a female at the Helm. There is at the same time a cruise for those who want to sit back and watch the Ladies Race on the water.

Programme Saturday 13 August
Ladies Race & Women's Day Cruise
8h30 Registration, coffee, tea and muffins on arrival, followed by guests speaker Vasti Manser who holds a number of adventure world records with her husband Riaan Manser. The couple has recently become RCYC members. In 2014 the pair became the first people ever in history to have rowed from mainland Africa to North America. For their honeymoon they rowed from California to Hawaii in a Guinness World record-breaking time of 39 days. Vasti will intrigue the audience with a unique woman's perspective of the world of adventure; a world usually reserved for rugged and very brave men.

12h00 - sailing and racing out in Table Bay, followed by prize-giving.

Lunch at leisure with blackboard specials for our ladies.

Lynette Finlay is the spokesperson for the team and can be reached /">here if you want to get a quote or comment from her.
