NZ RS Feva Coach Wayne Tresadern, reports from Weymouth, England, on Day 2 of the RS Feva Worlds, being sailed as part of the RS Games.

Simon Cooke and Arthur Rebbeck (NZL) are one of three crews tied on 5pts at the top of the leaderboard after Day 2. All three crews are counting five race wins in their net score from the six races sailed.

Three New Zealand crews are competing in the Worlds and all have made the cut in the Qualification Round over the first two days to compete as part of the Gold fleet for the remainder of the regatta.

The RS Games are conducted by RS Sailing incorporating several of the RS classes, with over 1,000 boats competing, including 185 boats in the RS Feva Worlds.

Good couple of qualifying days on the water for the Kiwi teams. Here In Weymouth, all three teams have qualified for gold fleet. This is a huge achievement for NZ Feva sailing.

We have sailed in SW winds ranging from 8 kts for Race 1 and then the other five have all been between 12-20kts.

We haven't sailed an international regatta in above 10kts in a long time so it is really positive to see the teams have the pace and intuition to be in the top third of the fleet.

Simon and Arthur have shown consistent results with five wins and a third place. They are sailing lightning fast and are winning races by multiple minutes. This is inspiring the other NZ teams to follow that tempo.

Kate and Madi have shown they can mix it up at the front of the fleet, and have been working away at their starts to learn as much as they can. They are ready to give the gold fleet their best efforts and chase down a podium position in the female category.

Ashton and Oskar have shown great tenacity to make it into gold fleet. They have found some good sail settings to depower their boat and have made solid tactical decisions to capitalise on the opportunities that have come their way!

As a coach I am immensely proud of our young sailors and the support crews.

We are ready to take on the best in the world for the next three days!

Forecast is looking like 15-20kts again tomorrow, and then it softens to 6-12kts for Tuesday and Wednesdays races.

Eight races to go! Keep dropping "Go Kiwis" comments on the RS Feva pages posts and streams. We need your support to show the RS company that we are passionate about our Feva Sailing and we deserve a world championships in New Zealand!

Thanks, Wade Tresadern, Coach
