Environmentally responsible sun protection with Zhik's new Eco Spandex range

Comprising of shorts, leggings, long, short and sleeveless race vest tops, Zhik's new ECO Spandex range is designed to provide lightweight body coverage and unrestricted movement. They are ideal to be worn as a layer on their own, the tops under a summer sleeveless skiff suit, or as a legging under yachting shorts, to suit the heat and wind conditions.
ECO Spandex is made from Repreve®, the worlds leading brand of recycled performance fibres, which is certified, traceable and made from 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste.
The fabric uses 100% recycled 240 gsm nylon that is soft and cooling to touch. Additional elastane fibres provide four-way stretch and the high gauge knit can stretch over 200%, yet always returns to its original shape while remaining soft and supple. An added UPF 50+ sun protection treatment protects from harmful UV light.
Each garment is designed with Zhik's 3D body mapping, producing panelling with key seams to enhance fit and movement, as well as reduce chafe. Anti-rash flatlock stitching is used throughout in addition to raw edge sleeve and neck openings for minimised bulk and uninhibited stretch.
The race vest has a low windage, aero race cut and incorporates a ergonomic slot to seamlessly fit over a trapeze hook and work with items worn underneath. The pants (leggings) and shorts include a large, slim profile concealed pocket, wide waistband and drawcord to secure the fit, with the men's items incorporating a 3D crotch design for added comfort.
