In less than four weeks Dragon sailors will be making a trip south to Falmouth for the regional British Dragon Association (BDA) Southwest Championships and the 73rd Edinburgh Cup.

Dragons were last racing in Falmouth Bay for Edinburgh Cup events in 2009, 2001 and 1995 hosted by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.

Entries for this year's prestigious event come from the four corners of the UK including travelling Dragon Jaguar Racing Team from Ireland. Among those attending the 2022 British Dragon National Championships will be new Dragon owners, past Edinburgh Cup winners, Classic Champions, and team Bertie, ranked number one in Britain.

BDA Chairman, Simon Barter commented "I am really looking forward to the Edinburgh Cup and Southwest championships that return to Cornwall this July. Six days of racing along with an active and fun social programme has been organised and you will be able to race against Dragons from across the UK, Ireland, and Europe."

Not only will there be first-class racing from 3rd through to 8th July 2022 Dragon racers, crews, family and friends will enjoy an engaging social agenda including a drinks party courtesy of Rt. Hon Evelyn Arthur Hugh Boscawen 10th Viscount Falmouth, a Cornish night hosted by St. Austell Brewery, and finishing with a Gala night and presentation of the coveted Edinburgh Cup trophy.
